First of all, i never reply to anyone writing "ANONYMOUSLY" but since you are talking about a pet, it concerns all "Animal Lovers".
India and Mumbai itself is a very complexed city with various housing societies enforcing various rules like "Vegetarianism" and "Non-Vegetariansm" and ownership of pets.Unless your dog is a total nuisance and danger to society members with incurable habits like "Loud Barking" or "Biting" i don't think the society can enforce a rule like "NON-OWNERSHIP OF PETS" by society residents.Today, owning pets has also become a "Status Symbol" within large city's and "Pet Boutiques", unheard a decade ago are not uncommon in 2009!Ultimately its a question of "Mutual Adjustments" and people who hate animals or pets should learn to adjust with pet-owners.I have personally never faced such problems and i have had pets since chilhood and today aged 49!
