Hello animal loving lovelies, this letter is to you from me, Seema Rahmani, who has hosted the animal show on NDTV Goodtimes called "Heavy Petting" up until its June, 2010 airing.
I am asking some seriously good-hearted people (that's you hopefully:) to take a tiny step forward and volunteer a measly Rs. 100 a month for one year from today June, 2010, (or make a whatever amount one time donation) so that 40 helpless dogs and a few cats [whose care-taker passed away a few months ago in Panchgini, India] can be guaranteed their one sure nourishing meal everyday for a year. An animal welfare shelter that will take over their well-being is in the process of being developed (built) and will be ready within a year, but until then the food-providers (who are not exactly well-off themselves) need to be paid. They have reduced their charge since the caretaker passed away, but they have no guarantee of any payment now (plus there is a tremendous back-log which they are willing to overlook for now). It will cost approx. Rs. 2800 a month to feed all 40 plus animals. So if even 28 of you can take a stand for Rs. 100 a month (that by the way is approximately only 2 dollars a month my dear U.S. based friends), we'll be set. I will be handling the donation transactions myself so you know its going directly to satisfy some very loving and dependent little bellies on four paws.
